10x Rule says You are Not Doing Enough

The central premise of the book is that in order to achieve exceptional results, you must put in 10 times the effort that you think is necessary. This means setting goals that are 10 times bigger than what you think you can achieve, taking 10 times more action than you think is required, and thinking 10 times more positively than you normally do.

The 10X Rule assumes that most people and organizations are underperforming. The book also explains how a firm with hundreds of workers loses its entrepreneurial spirit. Why? Because there is so much red tape and bureaucratic b*llshit, you cannot undertake anything huge or substantial. We can discover new inspiration and drive by establishing goals 10 times larger than what we initially think is attainable.

You thought you were working enough? 10x your effort. Also, set your expectations with time. It’ll take 10x longer than you expect. Think something will cost a specific amount? Tenfold.

The 10x Rule says It takes Time and Effort

If you are in the construction business, or anything surrounding that, you might have heard the concept of the general contractor telling you the project they are undertaking takes around 2 months. Well, you might have heard to double that, so it will take 4 months instead of 2 months. What Cardone is saying is to create that timeline and make it tenfold, 10x. So then the project will take 20 months as opposed to 2 months.

How does this apply to us? Well entrepreneurs have this timeline in their heads where they will be millionaires or multi millionaires in 1 year. Well, 10x that timeline. That is what Cardone teaches in his book. You have to be able to look in the future, in a decade, and set goals in that specific timeline.

You cannot think short term. Successful people who have maintained their wealth are fortune tellers, they have already laid out the necessary steps in a 10 year span, whilst you are only looking in 1 year. 10x your future telling skills and goal making skills.

The book promotes tremendous activity to achieve goals. This involves striving for better results rather than accepting mediocrity. Cardone also emphasizes consistency and not allowing setbacks disrupt your aspirations.

I appreciate how Cardone challenges readers to think bigger and expand their goals beyond what they may have previously thought was possible. He encourages readers to set goals that are ten times larger than what they currently believe they can achieve and to take massive action to make those goals a reality.

Many people downplay, undercut, undermine, and underestimate what they can do. It’s not just about believing you can do it, you just have to do it and surprise yourself, in the end, on what you have accomplished.

Cardone also emphasizes the importance of taking calculated risks and stepping outside of one’s comfort zone. He believes that success often requires individuals to take risks and try new things, even if they feel uncomfortable or uncertain.

I fully agree with Grant Cardone’s perspective on the dangers of being in the comfort zone. The comfort zone is a place where we feel safe and secure, but it’s also a place where we stop growing and taking risks. In order to achieve success, we need to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and take on new challenges.

Maintaining your Success

Cardone mentions saying that success needs to be maintained. Think about buying a house and not living in it for ten years: do you think that it will still look as pristine as when you first bought the property?

Short answer is, no. There will be little critters running around, the front yard and back yard will be filled with weeds. There will be dust, dirt, and grime everywhere around the house. You have to upkeep and maintain the house.

It’s the same with success. Once you achieve that level of success, you then have to maintain it. It’s not enough to simply achieve a level of success and then rest on our laurels.

We need to continue to strive for more and to constantly improve ourselves and our circumstances. This is the only way to ensure that our success is sustainable over the long term.

Strive to be More than Average

Grant Cardone’s “The 10X Rule” is a book that has been gaining a lot of attention in the business world, and for good reason. Especially in this world where Sigma mentality exists, and this notion of Hustle p*rn is running rampant on TikTok and YouTube shorts. Thanks to social media, the book that is filled with valuable insights and practical advice that can help individuals and organizations achieve extraordinary results.

Keep that 10x Attitude after Expansion

One of the key takeaways from the book is that individuals and organizations should strive to achieve 10 times the goals they initially set for themselves. This may seem like an audacious goal, but according to Cardone, it is necessary in order to break through the limitations that are holding us back.

The 10X Rule is based on the idea that most people and organizations are operating at a level that is far below their potential. He also mentions in the book where a startup that has achieved a level of success by employing hundreds of employees, no longer has that entrepreneurial spirit. Why?

Well because there is so much red tape, so much bureaucratic BS, that you really cannot do anything big nor major. By setting goals that are 10 times bigger than what we initially think is possible, we can tap into a level of motivation and drive that we never knew we had.

You’re Doing Enough? Think Again.

You thought you were doing enough with your time and effort? You have to 10x the amount of effort you have been putting in. At the same time, you have to set your expectations with time. You think that it’s going to take a certain amount of time to do something, well, it’s going to take 10x more of your time. You think it’s going to take a certain amount of expense to pay for something? Well 10x that amount.

The book emphasizes the importance of taking massive action in pursuit of your goals. This means not being satisfied with mediocre results, but rather pushing yourself to constantly improve and achieve more. Cardone also stresses the importance of being consistent in your efforts, and not letting setbacks or failures derail you from your goals.

You have to be able to push through the noise and distractions in order to achieve your goals and aspirations. You have to be willing to work on your craft on the bad days, and not just be willing to work on your good days.

Massive Action takes you to your Goals

One of the things the “The 10x Rule” talks about is that you are taking enough massive action. You have to be able to work more than your competitor, your goals need to be bigger than your competitor. With that, you will be able to move forward with success operating in 10x levels.

Another key takeaway from the book is the importance of mindset in achieving success. Cardone argues that a positive, “can-do” attitude is essential for achieving great things, and that you must believe in yourself and your abilities in order to succeed.

He also stresses the importance of taking responsibility for your own success, rather than blaming external factors for your failures. Like he says many times in the book, “Success is your duty, obligation and responsibility.” Do not try to put the blame on anybody, or anything else, other than yourself. You are solely responsible for your own downfall, and with the same token, your own success.

Regarding his statement that success is our duty and responsibility, Grant Cardone believes that each person has the ability and the obligation to achieve success in their life. He argues that settling for mediocrity or just getting by is not enough, and that everyone should strive for greatness and reach their full potential. To him, success is not just a possibility, it is a responsibility.

By embracing this mindset, individuals can overcome the obstacles and challenges that stand in their way and achieve greater levels of success than they ever thought possible. However, this also means accepting the responsibility that comes with success, including managing resources, creating value for others, and making a positive impact on the world.

This book may not be for You

“The 10X Rule” is an inspiring and motivating read that challenges readers to think bigger, work harder, and achieve more than they ever thought possible. By following the principles outlined in this book, we believe that anyone can achieve extraordinary success in their personal and professional lives.

However, the contents outlined in this book are not for everyone. For me, some of the things stated in the book do not apply to me, and I somewhat disagree with. Nevertheless, there are some fantastic viewpoints Cardone provides in his book.

One of the critical messages that Cardone emphasizes throughout the book is the importance of setting big goals. He argues that most people tend to set small and achievable goals, which is why they end up achieving mediocrity. To achieve significant success, you must set goals that are 10 times larger than what you think is possible.

By setting ambitious goals, you’ll be forced to think creatively and take bold actions to achieve them. He mentions in the book, to lay out your extreme, 10x goals, and then figure out how to do them whilst you are doing them. Of course you can plan, just plan in the middle of the frenzy. At least that’s what I got out of reading the book.

For example, you are at point A and you are trying to go to point C. Well, set yourself up to go to point C and start moving. You can figure out point B on the way. There’s no sense in waiting at point A, trying to go to point C, and still trying to figure out how to get to point B while being stuck at point A. You are not moving. You are not going anywhere. Figure it out along the way.

Change your Mindset. Change the Game. Be a Trailblazer.

One of the other critical themes that Cardone emphasizes in “The 10X Rule” is the importance of having a positive mindset. He argues that most people have limiting beliefs that hold them back from achieving success.

To break through these limiting beliefs, you must cultivate a positive mindset that focuses on solutions rather than problems. Cardone provides practical tips for developing a positive mindset, including visualization, positive self-talk, and surrounding yourself with positive people.

Another key takeaway from the book is the importance of persistence and resilience. Cardone argues that success is rarely achieved overnight and that you must be persistent in pursuing your goals. He also emphasizes the importance of resilience in the face of setbacks and failures. According to Cardone, successful people don’t give up when faced with obstacles but rather find a way to overcome them.

In addition to these key themes, Cardone provides practical advice for achieving success in various areas of life, including business, finances, and relationships. He emphasizes the importance of developing a strong work ethic, cultivating good habits, and investing in yourself. Cardone also provides advice on building a strong network of relationships, negotiating effectively, and taking calculated risks.

While it may be difficult to achieve complete success in every area of one’s life, it is certainly a goal worth striving for. It’s important to remember that success means different things to different people, and what may be considered successful in one area of life may not be the same in another. However, it’s essential to maintain balance in life and not neglect other areas, such as personal relationships, health, and personal development, in the pursuit of professional success.

Success in every Aspect of your Life

Cardone’s point is that true success requires a holistic approach to life, and that people who focus solely on business success at the expense of other areas of life may ultimately find themselves unfulfilled and unhappy.

It’s important to identify what success means to you and then work towards achieving balance in all areas of your life. While it may not be possible to achieve complete success in every area, striving towards this goal can help you live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Cardone advises maintaining success. If you were to buy a house today, and you don’t maintain the property for 10 years, do you think it will be the same as the day you bought it? Answer: no.

The front and back yards will have weeds and small animals. Dust and grime will cover the house. Maintain the house. Success too. You must sustain that accomplishment. It’s not enough to succeed and relax. We must always improve ourselves and our situation. Only this will assure our long-term success.

Failure is Needed

Another important lesson from this book is the importance of embracing failure and learning from it. Cardone believes that failure is a necessary part of the journey to success and that individuals should not be afraid to fail. Instead, he encourages individuals to use failure as an opportunity to learn and grow, and to keep moving forward towards their goals.

“The 10X Rule” is an inspiring and motivating book that challenges readers to think bigger and work harder than they ever have before. By following the principles outlined in this book, you can take your life and your results to the next level. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, business owner, or simply someone looking to achieve more in life, “The 10X Rule” is a must-read book that will help you unlock your full potential.
